Scheduled
We want to inform you of a disruptive change of about 15 minutes in the window scheduled for your deployment(s) as follows:
Schedule: AWS - US West (Oregon) 10:00 - 12:00 PDT May 2, 2020
Snowflake engineering is making changes to the AWS - PrivateLink configuration to improve performance and operational efficiency.
Configuration Change:
This maintenance update requires a downtime of approximately 15 minutes. During this maintenance window, customers using AWS - PrivateLink cannot connect to Snowflake Services. Client programs or workloads with connections established before the start of the maintenance window are dropped and require a restart after the maintenance task is complete.
Configuration Rollback:
We have tested the changes thoroughly. However, if we do encounter problems, we plan to roll back the change and restore the state of the network configuration. This operation will require a downtime of approximately 10 minutes.
Customer Action: Please monitor Status Page notifications for “Maintenance Complete” status update Resume your operations and restart the workloads as needed
Snowflake Status Page will send a reminder one hour before the start maintenance task. We will send another announcement after the task is complete.
Note: Please note that the service will be down only for a portion of the window of 2 hours mentioned above.
Please reach out to customer support by opening a support case on the Snowflake Community site for any questions regarding this change to AWS - PrivateLink configuration.
